Damage valuation

Recovering transport damage from the carrier, with a portal without an account and analytics per port

The Damage valuation module recovers transport damage: a register of claims against carriers, raised from a port or pre-delivery check, an amount from the inspection's calculations, a portal where the carrier acknowledges or disputes without an account, and a dashboard on arrivals, damage, importers and carriers.

Who it is for

Port and pre-delivery inspection firms, and fleet and lease companies that recharge transport damage to the carrier.

Damage valuation stands apart from Repairs and from Claims handling: it puts an amount on damage and recovers it, without the repair itself or the insurance decision.

What it does

  1. 1. Transport claim register

Claims with search, status tiles and CSV export.

  2. 2. A claim from an inspection

A claim is raised from a completed port or pre-delivery check, and the liable carrier is designated or created.

  3. 3. Amount from the calculation

A claim without an entered amount takes the sum of the inspection's calculations for the carrier. When a calculation is missing, two sit on one damage, or the currencies differ, the claim is refused, and where the amount came from is kept.

  4. 4. Carrier portal

The claim is sent with a single-use link. The carrier acknowledges or disputes without an account. An acknowledgement makes the claim active and prepares a recharge for invoicing in the same step; a dispute does not.

  5. 5. Analytics per port

A dashboard with arrivals, inspection progress, the time from arrival to inspection, damage by type and severity, per importer and per carrier, the trend over time and a drill-down per consignment.

What it does not do

  • The carrier's link is handed over by the staff member today; an automatic email to the carrier follows later.
  • A missing price book, a missing cell or an ambiguous price book never becomes zero.
  • A calculation is not silently recomputed when a tariff changes.
  • The repair and the insurance decision are not part of this module.

Questions?

What does Damage valuation cost?

Price on request: no plan in Tavuni's public price list includes Damage valuation yet.

Does the carrier need an account?

No. The carrier opens the claim through a single-use link and acknowledges or disputes it there.

Where does a claim's amount come from?

From the inspection's calculations for the carrier. When that is not unambiguous, the claim is refused instead of guessing an amount.
