Inspections
Inspections and condition reports with your own templates and verifiable evidence
The Inspections module records a vehicle's condition with your own templates: damage per zone as a finding without an amount, handover and return for hire, reports for the customer, comparison of two inspections, a fair-wear adviser and evidence a counterparty can verify without an account.
Who it is for
Hire companies at handover and return, lessors at the end of a contract, garages and body shops, and port and pre-delivery inspection firms.
Inspections is an optional module. It works from the browser; with the Mobile app module the walk-around happens on a device. Putting a price on damage is not part of Inspections.
What it does

1. Inspection register
A list with filters and CSV export, create and edit, status changes and bulk cancel. An inspection finds or creates the vehicle by plate, so the same plate does not produce a second vehicle.

2. Your own templates
Templates with sections, checks and blocks that are cloned, published, archived and revised. Rules make a question or a required photo visible depending on earlier answers, with a preview while building. An organisation can add its own checks.

3. Kinds of inspection
Among others general inspections, damage and maintenance inspections at the garage, transport, end of contract, the final check before release, the handover of a vehicle and the check on arrival at a port.

4. Damage as a finding
Damage is recorded per zone with type, severity and photos, and carries no amount. Each finding keeps how it was captured. Damage can be graded, judged, retracted or linked to an earlier finding as the same damage.

5. Handover and return
For hire, the handover and the return open a condition report, and the record shows what was found at handover and at return.

6. Reports
A web report and a PDF following a profile, a shareable link for the customer that can be revoked, and a comparison of two inspections of the same vehicle. Costs are not in the customer report unless the profile shows them.

7. Fair-wear adviser
A panel on the inspection advises on the standard that applied on the inspection date. When an input is missing it shows the reason instead of a number.

8. Disputes on the finding
A dispute attaches to the finding itself, with reason and evidence, and holds for every file that reads that finding.

9. Verifiable evidence
The report carries a link to a hashed manifest of the evidence chain, the public keys and a verification address. A hirer or insurer retrieves the chain and verifies it without an account.
What it does not do
- A finding never carries an amount; what is charged is a later step.
- Template rules read answers; they do not decide whether damage is acceptable or chargeable.
- The fair-wear adviser only advises; the staff member's judgement stays the anchor.
- Putting a price on damage belongs to the Damage valuation module, the walk-around on a device to the Mobile app module.

Can I inspect without the mobile app?
Yes. Inspections works from the browser. The walk-around on a device, with camera and offline work, comes with the Mobile app module.
Does Tavuni put a price on recorded damage?
Not in the inspection itself: a finding carries no amount. Prices per zone and the calculation per damage belong to the price books; deciding who pays what is a separate step.
How can a counterparty check the evidence?
Through the link in the report it retrieves the evidence chain and verifies it against the public key, without an account at Tavuni.
